To Re-Prime or Not

Sampled Christmas Ale the other day. Gassed barrel and it started hiding from the valve. Seems to have lost carbonation as a result. Should I re-prime our just use my cylinder? Really can't decide. Merits to both.

i would use your cylinder , a 2 sec burst or 1 bulb , you don't want to open the barrel and let in air etc .
