So, my "September in the Rain" brew is now working away nicely with a lovely pad of yeast on the top. I was a bit worried as it seemed to take a while for anything to show at the top but now I'm sure it will be quite happy for a few days yet (just as well as I have a busy week ahead of me including a long day at the Westmorland County Show).
My question is, should I be monitoring it, checking the gravity every day? Or is it best just to leave it be until the fermentation subsides? It's awfully tempting to peek too but I try not to do it all that often. The bucket is sitting happily in a corner of the bathroom, the most dust-free place I have, the one with the most constant temperature and the only room I can seal off against the cat.
