I am new to home brewing. I have bought a twin-can liquid malt extract kit. Somebody said that I should boil the malt before putting it into the fermenter bur on the instructions, it says not to do so. Is there any advantage to boiling the malt extract prior to using it? Any info would be most appreciated.

LME is effectively dehydrated wort (beer before its becomes beer), no benefit to boiling this, however you may want to warm it so it comes out of the tin easily. Place the tin standing upright open in a pan of near boiling water. When lifting the tin out, make sure to use oven gloves as it will be hot.

Good luck

You might find it easier to just warm the tins up in a water bath that isn't that hot, pour off most of the liquid, using a long spoon to scoop it out, then rinse out the residue with small amounts of very hot water. Less chance of getting scalded.
For your original question then I agree. No need to boil it, as the bittering hops will normally already be in there. The tins in your kit are really likely to be concentrated wort, not just malt extract.

You don't have to boil extract.
