You may be different, but for me everything seems to work on a 14 day cycle. 10-14 days in Primary, 14 days to clear in a secondary, 14 days in bottles indoors and 14 days (should be more) resisting the temptation to drink it.

Here's the problem.

The routine above produces about 40 pints in a fortnight. And in reality that doesn't work because I'd have to do more than just brew on a brew day and things get in the way, daft things like holidays, the flu and stuff.
I enjoy about 2 pints most days, sometimes 3. A friend or two pop around and I pour them one too, Mrs Pjam now likes the stuff I make (don't know if that's good or bad) and she often has a bottle. So, in 14 days we get though about 70 pints   but I only make 40 :!:

I either need to call AA or get more equipment :wha:

I would suggest drinking only every other day . You will enjoy your beer more , lose weight , be healthier and have enough beer to last the 14 days . I love beer but you just shouldn't drink every day , think of 40 years more drinking and that's a lot of beer .

Hahahhaahh Nick, your as bad as me ....... I can tell.

Hmmm yes. I am getting fat ......... ish. Every other day ........ Ouch. I'm overdoing it and have been for a while I guess. I do have one rule however, I never drink before 6PM so convince myself I've got self control

I'm pretty much the same. Except it's 5pm, and doesn't apply on Fridays, weekends, school holidays, general holidays, special occasions, pub lunches, birthdays, anniversaries, and exceptionally good/bad days. But apart from that I'm very strict on this rule ;)

To be fair. My usual weekday evening consists of between 2-4 beers and a weekend can depend on what's happening. Between 10-20. Sounds bad when you count it all up!

I only brew 5 gal every 2 or 3 weeks but I've found I'm never out of stock. Weekend drinking often includes pub beer. And I do give a lot away.

...... it does sound bad when you add it up, that's true. And I only did so because I do keep running out and that means I drink stuff that's not quite ready
Never on Mondays and Thursdays, that sounds OK ............ he says, hopefully :(
