What is Real Ale?

Real ale is a beer brewed from traditional ingredients (malted barley, hops water and yeast), matured by secondary fermentation in the container from which it is dispensed, and served without the use of extraneous carbon dioxide.

Haha! Camra say a lot of things about "real ale" ... :twisted:

The "secondary fermentation" to which I was referring is the fictional one that occurs when people rack to a "secondary fermenter". I would call what CAMRA have described there as "bottle or cask conditioning", but they're more likely to know what they're talking about that me. :whistle:
 
i cant belive it i should of read these tips before syphoning almost ten litres of john bull lager into barrel straight through tap and on to floor.jeez what a bell end.tip 22 read tips again
