Never mind the budget something far more sinister happened in westminster yesterday, the speaker completly stifled the voices of every mp in there, he took away parlamentry privlegde

Was it not the Deputy in the chair? (A woman).

Not sure I heard any stifling of voices other than telling MPs to pipe down so that RR and RS could be heard. Pretty standard stuff.

It seems a certain group of people who had never previously showed any concern for Parliamentary procedures, are now getting terribly upset because it was suggested MPs don't say anything about the Southport case to avoid prejudicing the legal case against him. Which is self-evidently a sensible thing to do, but doesn't stop some people posturing about it.

When in the chamber they have free reign so she basically interfered in the democratic right of mp's, it has also been said by some people who have worked in high office that this information would have been known to government with a couple of hours of what happened and should have been made public suggesting had they done so the riots would not have happened

They don't have free reign.

You can only speak when standing, and you have to be called to stand. Once you're standing you can say pretty much anything as long as you believe it to be the truth.

It's one of the Speaker's purpose's in the Commons to tell MPs to shut up if they're not standing.

I was watching the whole thing erupting into screeching chaos and couldn't help but think it was more like a rowdy pub than a group of people who are supposed to be running the country.

The irony is, we'd likely be better off handing the running of the country over to the denizens of a rowdy pub.

I agree and that is right, but yesterday she the dep speaker made specific reference that no one talked about it, and as lots of prominent people have said Starmer and co would have known the same day and want to know why it has taken since July to announce it

Specific reference to what? I saw that the Deputy Speaker reiterated that MPs shouldn't be leaking details of the budget outside of Parliament.

That's not a question of Parliamentary privilege - which only applies when speaking in session in Parliament - that's just the convention of how it's always been agreed to be done.
