This afternoon was a great
Meeting, lots of new faces and some familiar ones too. Saltaire is a really really nice brewery And the beers served this afternoon were outstanding
And i would like to thank adrian for organising the event, the double oat pale was a great beer too :drink: .

I'm just sorry I could not stop for longer, I certainly had the taste for it.

I'm sure we will be asking for a return visit if they will have us again.

What a great afternoon, glad so many could make it.... thanks to everyone we made over £60 for Charity too :)

I didn't know until 10oclock on friday night that I was going John, I had to sort out logistics, due to having to be elsewhere by 5pm.

You really did miss a good meeting though, some great beer and plenty of room to mingle and chin wag, met some new to the group, who I think will return.

If we can find a few more gems to meet at such as the Saltaire, I think we could get to be a much healthier group of brewers (both in numbers and knowledge to share) very quickly.

Hope you can make the next meeting in Huddersfield on the 30th of July John.

Shane

Shane did get there a good hour early mind you!!! :) :) We'd only just opened up and pulled the beer through... hopefully all the pints were pulled to your liking, it has been mine and Emma's first experience of Bar-work.

I had meant to give you a couple of bottles before you had to go Shane.

If you lost some personal belongings at the brewery yesterday, they are safe and sound. You can collect from brewery during normal working hours.

I think I came away with everything I went with, maybe a few less braincells!

They will keep till another meeting I'm sure , It is a pity though you do make some cracking beer :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Ammarillo wheat is still high up in my top ten of all time beers :thumb:

Good day, the double oat stout was very nice Franklin, I'm looking forward to trying your bottles. I'll try and get a tasting session together with Steve when he gets back from Belgium and I'll be sure to let you know what I think of them. Great to see some people a second or third time and meet some new faces. Brilliant to get some feedback from the pros and my fellow amateurs.

Now pondering home smoked malt and what different woods bring to the table.

it wasn't a Stout, t'was a Pale... Glad you liked it. (Though 'double oat stout' sounds like a good idea)

The Kartoffel Rauch is **************************/2010/10/31/a ... fel-rauch/ though nothing much on the smoke front.

Phlegm is **************************/2011/01/01/a ... style-ale/

I have two of your bottles, remind me what I've got they have letters or something on the lids.

Yes pale, very nice and nothing like a stout. I didn't drink a stout all day, no idea where that came from :D

I think I gave you the Porter Type Thing (dunno maybe it is more of a stout) with a P on the cap. That was the one that I missed my train waiting to hear what you guys thought. We had talked about doing a swap of that and your porter at Heald Green. The other one is probably Confused Goat, CG on the cap. Might be the Sieg Mild (M on the cap)

I like the idea of more subtle smokey flavours in beers, not that you would know it with the Smoked Horror :D

I've been meaning to do a weissbier with just a touch of smoke for ages, with summer coming up, perhaps now is the time. I've also been meaning to try fruit wheat. Do you think raspberry and smoke would work?

Another enjoyable meet! Was good to put some names to faces.

I ended up being drunker than anticipated but it's all good! :drunk:  probably should have had more than 2 slices of toast beforehand!

I've got to say Adrian I thought you beer was the best and the Cascade Pale was bloody good too!!!

Looking forward to the next one :thumb:

Good to chat to you too Paul, your the biab brewer aren't you. Turned out a Good day, hopefully one to repeat in the future.

biab?

I was the one at the end talking to Howard and Gordon, and I also turned up an hour early like Shane lol

Well done to all that attended and raised the cash.

Can I use this as a news item on the NCB WEBSITE Adrian?
