Holy moly I've had weaker sherry!Well being the impatient b*llocks that I am I took another gravity reading today, 4 days after pitching. I gave it a stir first to make sure the sugar hadn't all congealed at the bottom of the FV and to give the yeast a little swirl into suspension, and as of now the SG is 1.027 meaning the ABV is 15.65%.
Impressive stuff this kviek, I'll certainly be using it more in future. It’s amazing it can drop so far so quickly. I know it’s not linear but imagine doing a 5% beer in a day!
You're not wrong there, I might bottle it in these:A sipper for sure
Id still only need 2 and id be on my backYou're not wrong there, I might bottle it in these:
My first go with Voss was a 4.5% pale ale, I thought it was failing to start then realised it has fermented out overnight and I'd missed it all. It’s amazing it can drop so far so quickly. I know it’s not linear but imagine doing a 5% beer in a day!
that's my 12.86% firmly kicked into touch - how are you packaging this monster? - something tells me you wont be using 660ml bottlesWell being the impatient b*llocks that I am I took another gravity reading today, 4 days after pitching. That means @stigman is currently closest although if it the gravity drops another point @Clint will take the closest spot.
I'm just hoping that it won't be too knackered for carbonation when it gets to that.
If I prime for 2.0 vol/CO2 it'll add 0.4% taking it just over 16%So you're priming the bottles with sugar? That's got to be good for another 0.5%.
Not sure yet but I've certainly thought about it. Any idea what yeast would be up to the task? Are you going to use any bottling yeast?
hopefully those yeasties have gone to sleep and I'm getting Steve's special brew :thumba:Never mind that .. who's the closest??
