Picked this up in the Whole Foods shop in London.

It's hopped with simcoe and summit and weighs in at 6.8%.

That's all the bottle tells you apart from it being bottle conditioned.

Pours with a perfect tight bright white head and the hit of hop is intense, it's clear straight away that they haven't skimped on this one at all.

That is reinforced when the first draft hits the tongue, at once it's big big malt and big big bitterness. I'm guessing in the 80s IBU-wise, but it's perfectly balanced by the sweetness of the malt. The fruit flavours build through to a big citrus finish.

The only two problems with this beer: 330 ml to the bottle just isn't enough; and I only bought one... Muppet.

Well get your **** back out into Old london town and get another one simples.

I tried these over the weekend...OMG!

I cannot get over how hoppy these taste, if my brews tasted as good as the i could die a happy man! The Galaxy/summit/an other was an amazing brew. These are bottle conditioned and only have a shelf life of 4 months, i might drive past and see if they are open on my commute home.

The brew smells of Elderflowers too my southern nose, the taste is amazing and as you say one isn't enough. I'm fortunate to find a stockist that is only 2 miles from my front door in Woodford Green.

I recommend you try one - Suppliers listed here;-

I understand that he gets the local CAMRA group to sample his brews and give thier verdict, seems he keeps striving for perfection, weill i think he has it in everything i have tried thus far - good man!

Just finished the 1890 stout OMG - perfection!

Have been to the brewery a couple of times for LAB brew days and tastings.
Evin was also one of the original members of the London Amateur Brewers.

He must be doing something right as they had to upgrade from a 5brl to 20brl last year

I would rate The Kernel as one of the best breweries in the UK at the moment. Everything I've had from them has been nothing short of stunning. So clean and fresh and the way they make the hops "pop" is incredible. I'm lucky enough to occasionally get their stuff on draft in my local too, which is pretty awesome. Especially for a Devon pub!

The "Table Beer" has to be tried. 2.8%
