Has anyone done business with this company?

I want to buy a Coobra all-in-one brewing system. It's based on the Klarstein.

https://www.thehomebrewery.co.uk/coobra-brewery-cb3-30l

They don't publish a phone number and that puts me off. And I can't find any reviews.

No idea really but it looks a bit suspicious that a seemingly unknown has 5 different expensive brew systems in many varieties all in stock.

They answer email queries and the parent company, Behrens, seems kosher.................

Looks legit, website have SSL certificate.

But one thing is strange from T&C:
Returns: The product must be unused and in unopened packaging

How you supposed to inspect the product if you like it or not. As far as I know consumer right allow us to do that if we buy items online.

Many companies will let you return opened goods but that's their choice. But I think UK customers are better protected under distance selling regs.

Exactly that "distance selling regulations" - so if they sell to UK customers they should obey UK regulation, right?

I now know that the distance selling regs were replaced on 13 June 2014 by the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013

More relevant to faulty goods is The Consumer Rights Act 2015

Probably, as it's a UK website.
The companies based in Sweden though, I think its more likely they will buy everything to order possibly resulting in long shipping times rather than an all out scan. But from memory (not a good memory) it looks alot like a site discussed on here recently that looked like a definite scam but i'm not that sure of it and it could just be a common template.

I could not find the machine on Google, but Bing turned up lots of info. I'm mulling it today.

The pump can be connected to the sparge heater. I will need to lengthen the recirculating pipe for when the malt pipe is raised.

My Coobra CB5 - 50-litre brewery arrived today! It travelled 2,400km by road. It's been tested for basic functionality. Shame the instructions are only in Swedish, Norwegian and Polish! But it's similar to the Klarstein which offers an English manual. I'll review it when I have done my first ever all-grain brew which is a Landlord clone.

Hi Kelper! How you getting on with the Coobra? I'm tempted by one of these, looks great.

The Coobra is a great value. I have used it once but am waiting for warm, dry weather as I only want to use it outdoors due to the amount of steam a brew produces. Being in the Highlands it means next month. The stat has to be calibrated to get a rolling boil and again to start the timer but this is common to many units

Ok cool thank you :)

It can draw 16A so the plug gets quite hot. but the wiring in most houses is 32A so I think it's OK. I did buy a SCR device to lower the effective voltage but you can opt to use less power easily. Do shop around as all these toys are very similar and someone like Angel Home Brew often has good deals if you pre-order.

Did you see the mods I did for sparging?
