Roll on October. Nothing else to say on this most upsetting issue. Oh except looking forward to the approaching thunderstorms, rain and sensible temperatures later today.

Yeah, and still some left in it. Not so much for the two chickens, 8 koftas, 12 sausages, 2 aubergines, and three peppers.

There's always some left. Something enticing about them though. The bin does well out of them I know that much.

stop complaining about the weather the uk folks always complaining
don't matter what the weather is we are never happy
so just get a life and get on with it hot cold wet or frozen

Wrong on two counts I have a life and I like a bright and dry day when the heat isn't so high you are sweating your bollocks off before even getting to work.

Yay it's here! Thunder lightning and rain! Just been stood in the back yard and now I'm wet through, laughing at muppets next door crying over their sputtering barbeque and scuttling off indoors! Best off all it's got me out of that horrendous summer chore, cutting grass and hedges.

Yes but its not mine.

I hate it, I mean really, really hate it. The sweat, discomfort, nobheads lured out of the woodwork, frazzled retinas cos of the constant blinding sun, insomnia, stench of rotting things, insects, flip flops, bloody barbeques etc etc. The list is endless. But it is what it is and only lasts 3 months or so. I'm not too vocal about it but what really freaks me out is weather forecasters saying it's glorious/head to the coast/enjoy etc. Seriously if could reach thru the screen and pull their head off, I would.

I don't know if you realise that it has been hotter in South Cumbria than it has been in parts of Greece, does that make you feel any better?

Probably not!

Not surprising, and in winter they'll be snowed under whilst we're regaled with stories of warmest December evah and it's global warming in action etc etc. Look at my ears! Look at them!! Can you see the steam??

It's alright for you. We got a half-hour shower, bit of thunder then pretty much back to square one. The misery goes on.

no not me I like the cooler times

Low to mid 20s in Aberdeenshire the last 3 days, being a redhead I've been hiding inside my nice cold granite cottage. Although I did cook a bbq at the in-laws farm on Thursday and opened the first bottle of backcurrant wine made from their berries last August. My galaxy pale ale has carbed up wonderfully in the warm upstairs and really hits the spot in this heat. Unfortunately, we don't get thunderstorms to cool the air, probably going to get the mother of all haars soon though.

I hope we're not going to get some knobhead on TV telling us that the heat is proof of global warming. Fact is we are due an ice age at some point. Too many people have made a fortune out of global warming to deny it's existence. Temperatures have been stable for the last 20 years. We have reached the top of the hump.
Does CO2 level affect temperature? No. The fossil record shows that temperature rises before CO2. Just like that pint of lager you left on the bar, as the temp. of the sea rises it gives up it's CO2. 400ppm is an infinitesimal proportion of the atmosphere so it's cannot be significant.
When the sky is clear at night it goes cold. When it's cloudy it stays warmer. Proof positive that water vapour is the only greenhouse gas (not even a gas!)
Anyone with basic scientific knowledge will confirm that all the above is true. Don't be taken in by the lies.
Phew! I feel better now. Where's that cold lager?

absolutely not, that's one reason i never want to visit Greece! too damn hot!

I was caught in valkewswaard once where it was 36 Degrees. Straight back in the car aircon on internal recycle. It was on our way home from centreparcs otherwise I'd have been striaght back in the pool to cool of pronto.
