Over the years of my home brew journey I have used my homebrew in exchange for favours.

Over the years I have had pheasant, rabbits, pigeon, help moving house, logs for fire etc
Today I wanted to get rid of a few barrow loads of turf that I dug up but didn't fancy the multiple round trips over 22 miles to the tip so spoke with a friend with a farm and dumped it there. His reply to my message - swap you a few bottles. This seems to be common these days as more people here about my brews.

What wild and wacky things have you exchanged for a bottle of your finest?

Nowt! Sweet Fanny Adams! People seem to want my beer for free. Like it's expected of me to supply a free night on the ale or take a crate round...my kid brother piped up...you can make me some beer if you like...I said it's £20 for 40 bottles...he said...yeah righto...I pointed out...malt,yeast,hops,water,gas, electric and my time...bargain!
Someone else said if they come round and watch me brew (with everything I've paid for) we could go halves...on what? The fresh air floating round my kitchen....
No thanks...

I frequently have BBQs with my old friends and now because they know I brew - and I made the stupid mistake of showing off some of my better efforts - they turn up and the first thing they utter is "what's good down in the cellar nick?"
And go snaffle beer!!!

Bloody cheek

Yup! You gotta stop em. I have suggested they brew their own and we could have shared pissups...
No time, can't be arsed, wife won't allow it ....LAME!!!!!!!

Mate of mine popped round one night. We were supposed to meet in town but I let slip I had a rather lovely pecan stout on the go. 'Oh aye, well I'll call round to yours first then and then we can head out.' He then proceeded to 'swap' me 3 cans of sh1tty Guinness for 3 pints of delicious pecan stout! I'm thinking he got the better deal. But since he's my best mate, I'll give him a by-ball.

As for the original question; I've deffo made a case of beer for a punch up the drawers athumb..

Got the bin men to take two extra bin bags in exchange for a few bottles. No mean feat around here .
The bin mafia won't usually touch anything that doesn't fit in the wheelie bin with the lid down. Few bottles of homebrew later and it's "no problem squire".

Next time say you have 3 lovely pints of stout on the go and pour him Guinness

I hope your getting a extra large mocha choca latte expresso and not a cup of mellow birds :laugh8:
LOL - mellowbirds is a cultural reference I often drop in to conversations at work always to be met by blank faces from the millennials.
