The easiest approach to this is to say to myself "I'm infected and infectious. How many others am I prepared to infect".

The problem is as pointed out by Myqul above the sensible ones are following the guidelines and the ignorant dumb feckers are ignoring it.

It looks like we are going to have to follow other counties where you are only allowed out if you have paperwork to show you are allowed (essential services etc) these idiots are going to cause the sensible ones who run, walk and cycle alone to be banned from doing so.

There's no hope really - my facebook feed is full of photos of happy familly get-togethers for mothers day. A friend rang up last night and asked if we were up for a get- together. i told him to **** off... But my mrs is still having to work - she's a domicilliary care worker, and though my daughter is doing all the shopping for us, she's still having to work and mix with people as she's also a front line worker.

I rang my mother last night to tell her we would not be visiting but would put her card and present on the doorstep and knock on the door, i cannot believe these idiots are still gathering after all the advice we have had.

SWMBO is a also a care worker her care home is now in lock-down which gives us a little bit of peace of mind, families have been phoning several times a day complaining that they are not allowed to see their parent, you couldn't make it up.

I'm glad say that not all UK business people are pillocks!

This is from the Skegness, Skegness, Skegness Facebook Page:

"The Boating Lake Cafe Skegness
5 hrs
We opened our Ice cream & donut kiosk yesterday, but on reflection we think we made the wrong decision. Skegness was really busy and we are only adding to the problem of visitors coming to the coast, because attractions are open, when everyone should be staying at home. If we want a summer season, we have to make some sacrifices now and follow government guidelines. Stay at home, stay safe and we look forward to seeing you all on a sunny summer day."

I appreciate it follows one of my mantras (The "Day late ... " one) but it's nice to see a small business acting on Government advice and taking onboard the seriousness of the situation. athumb..

So far, they have 49 "Likes". I fully expect more because the locals are coming unglued at the selfishness of people who are coming down to the coast!

South Lakes Police
Bowness and the Lakes are today as busy as we would expect without the Corona Virus. People - PLEASE stay at home and isolate. This is not the time to be exploring the Lakes.

I'm not surprised as the national parks declared themselves open and free whilst the coronavirus is here. I have to go working away in Windsor which may go against advice but I've no choice but to go for the money.

The park may be open but it doesn't mean families and friends should all go there and walk together, will it take a total ban on people going out for these numb-nuts get the message?

I know but when everyone got the message directly from the National parks that they're free and open to walk over its expected. They shouldn't have said that in the first place.

Sorry but no its not, the government have said keep a distance from each other if you go out that advice doesn't change whether its a national park, local park or beauty spot.

Full lock down required now if people are ignoring advice of course people will blame the government but it is them that are not following advice. Armed police and army should be deployed to sort out the non-compliant selfish ba%$"%&*s who are not taking this serious we had 53 deaths yesterday and I fear today's figures will be higher.
Jail the Tw$%s

I am a essential worker now so I am working between 3 am and 8am to minimise my contact for my family's sake why can't you selfish Tw%^s just follow advice stop blaming the government they have told you what to do so DO IT!!!!!!!
Some of you may be lucky enough to get 80% of your wages for not working I now have to work virtually a semi nightshift to supply you with food and I am having to go to bed at 7pm so complete disruption to my family quality time and still you can not follow advice you SELFISH TW$&S

Well I'm going to work, no choice. I wish I didn't need to.

It must be an awful position to be in you want to do the right thing and stay away from people but because the government haven't helped the self employed enough to allow you to do that you are forced to risk going to customers houses, keep washing those hands. thumb

I will try my best and there will be only workers there, its only for the week as I think it must be finished for Friday. I think things may be changed afterwards 👍

These are requests handed to the Government yesterday in order to make compensation more fair and effective:
  1. The level of Statutory Sick Pay be raised
  2. Employers guarantee to keep people in work as part of the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (and will guarantee to keep people in work if in receipt over other new loans provided by the Government in response to COVID-19)
  3. The self-employed be included in the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme
  4. The Government consider further increases to Jobseeker’s Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance, and Carer’s Allowance
  5. The Government come forward with further announcements to protect renters, and those facing difficulties with utility bills and debt
I've highlighted the bit about self-employed.

But there is growing political pressure on the government to help the millions of self-employed workers who will not benefit. Mr Jenrick said that using the tax system to hand out wages to self-employed people was “logistically, operationally difficult” compared with helping companies. But he told Sky News: “There may be more things we need to do, the chancellor is keeping it under review and considering what we may be able to do for the self-employed.” Jeremy Corbyn, the Labour party leader, has written to the government calling for further help for those facing hardship as a result of the coronavirus pandemic — including the 5m self-employed, renters, those on benefits and those receiving sick pay.

Mr Corbyn said on Sunday morning that some self-employed people were reasonably affluent but others had a very “marginal existence” from day to day. “If they are told to stay home then they will have to access benefits through universal credit . . . that can’t come straight away. They are vulnerable, they need to put food on the table.”

Jim Pickard and Delphine Strauss in London 5 HOURS AGOPrint this page134 Be the first to know about every new Coronavirus story Get instant email alerts The British government is considering ways to extend its new wage support scheme to the self-employed despite the significant technical challenges, communities secretary Robert Jenrick said on Sunday.

On Friday chancellor Rishi Sunak pledged an intervention of historic proportions when he said the state would pay companies to stop them sacking workers at 80 per cent of each employee’s salary.

That announcement was hailed by business groups and leftwing leaders such as Len McCluskey, general secretary of Unite the Union. It came just three days after Mr Sunak promised £330bn of loan guarantees and a £20bn fiscal intervention including further business rate relief for companies. But there is growing political pressure on the government to help the millions of self-employed workers who will not benefit.

Recommended Torsten Bell Opinion: Sunak’s plan is economically and morally right Mr Corbyn said on Sunday morning that some self-employed people were reasonably affluent but others had a very “marginal existence” from day to day. “If they are told to stay home then they will have to access benefits through universal credit . . . that can’t come straight away. They are vulnerable, they need to put food on the table.” Britain’s self-employed, who account for 15 per cent of the workforce, are a disparate group. Analysis by the Institute for Fiscal Studies showed that about a third had taxable income of less than £10,000, while a small number of high-earning partners in professional firms rank among the UK’s top 1 per cent by income.

Many poorer self-employed people will be helped by the government’s decision to scrap the “minimum income floor” — which often makes those on low incomes ineligible for help under universal credit. However, self-employed people who have savings, or live with a higher-earning family member, would still not qualify for help under universal credit, and those higher up the earnings scale could face very steep losses of income. There also remains a gap in the coverage of statutory sick pay for 2m self-employed people with low earnings. Extending Mr Sunak’s retention scheme to self-employed workers would be logistically difficult. It could be easier to relax the rules on means-testing under universal credit, or to make contributory benefits that might be open to some self-employment people more generous.
