Me and the wife have just been talking and come to the conclusion that the free movement of people in the EU must have added to the virus spread and they must now look at this after the virus is over as some of the main country's involved have shut their borders which to me is a admission that it has multiplied the problem.
Before anybody tries to twist this comment into a anti foreign rant it is a genuine observation from what has been happening
Most logical thing iv'e heard all week athumb..

Certainly the movement of people has added to the spread of the disease, but if we do away with "free movement" we'll still have movement: tourism, second home buyers, diplomats, lorry drivers, football matches, Olympic games etc. It's just that their movement will be hampered with border checks which don't include medical checks. I wonder if it would have made any difference. Apparently the outbreaks in South Korea and the Gand Est - the most severely hit part of France - have been attributed to big Evangelical conferences with delegates from all over the world. This sort of thing is going to happen anyway.

I heard on the radio this morning that the Italian outbreak may be traced back to a Serie A footie match

I think we will be getting that anyway when we leave the EU fully AA but I am referring to the EU state they will maybe need to reassess the free movement they have in place and stop the volume of non EU people who are moving around too freely within member country's. We maybe talking of small %s but a small % of 50 million say in netherlands as a example is a lot and adds to the virus figures

Yeah and the outbreak can be traced back in the Uk to the Skemerdale v Bishop Auckland match :laugh8: :laugh8: :laugh8:

Actually it' all the fault of the middle classes going on skiing holidays rather than EU migrants:

"A family from East Sussex may have been Britain’s first coronavirus victims, catching the virus in mid-January after one of them visited an Austrian ski resort that is now under investigation for allegedly covering up the early outbreak."

True. Along those lines:

'Coronavirus coughing' at emergency workers could lead to two years in jail, says CPS
The Crown Prosecution Service has put out a statement today saying that anyone using “coronavirus coughs” to threaten emergency workers could face serious criminal charges. It follows reports that police officers, shop workers and others have been coughed at by people claiming to have the disease.
The CPS says that using coughing in this way as a threat could lead to someone being charged with common assault. And it says that assaults specifically against emergency workers are punishable by up to two years in prison.

My sister is showing symptoms and is currently self isolating.

One of my colleagues was in contact with a man who tested posititve for Corona.

Gets a bit more real when it gets closer to home
I was with a colleague on Monday, Tuesday she rings in sick with symptoms, she is awaiting test results

All joking apart is there not a theory it has something to do with bats?

I have never seen so may cyclists, runners and walkers as i have today the main roads are deserted but all the small country lanes are full of them, i assume these are all the gym users we never usually see.

I say. That's not cricket!

Same here in London. I live opposite a park and on the ride home back from work yesterday the park path was absolutely heaving

Yes. 'Wet markets' in china, whereby you can buy all sorts of live animals to eat and for medicine. Bats harbour all kinds of disease. Stuff like HIV

Although these markets are real (my friend lived in Wuhan). I don't think it actually works like that.

The WHO monitor viruses in animals, most viruses just stay animal - animal. Some mutate and jump from animal to human. What makes CORVID 19 special is at an extremely fast speed it mutated from animal to human, to human to human. There is no indication that it was caught from eating animals from a market.
