Why would they do that. :?:

Who know's? Perhaps the tinfoilhatters are correct and they want to kill off the pensioners in a herd immunity apocalypse so they don't have to pay pensions out and can get rid of the 'non productive' members of society? :tinhat:

But they did something similar with ventilators. They were to join the EU joint procurement programme but refused. Saying, 'they didn't get the email' (Which was debunked about 2 seconds later by the EU)

From what I've read in the papers. Many of them have approached the Gvment to offer their services but the Gvment have just ignored them

I know that's certainly not the case with Burberry, who have been making gowns for a while now for the NHS. I assume they can't be the only ones.

Note that Captain Tom is raising money for NHS Charities Together, not "the NHS". They're intended for the "extras" rather than the core NHS mission. And to put it in context, the £21m he has raised would run the NHS for 76 minutes. It's a pimple on the budget.

You know that, and I know that, but the narrative is that of the NHS needing help, and kind people all over the UK coming up with ways to raise money for the NHS.

The way it is being reported and indeed glamourised, seriously risks normalising it.

It's also a good distraction 'look a squirrel' story. So people dont scrutinse the Government as closely

Well you can either put it down as gross incompetence or wilful negligence. Either they don't care enough to organise things properly, or there is a hidden agenda not to organise things properly.

Just heard that Poland Government is to relax their shutdown on May 1st-3rd, allow gatherings, parties, restaurants to re-open as well as gyms and playgrounds. Only caveat is a rule to wear a mask and gloves in public outdoors.
Personally I think it is a political stunt as they have elections on the 10th. They will probably be saying how wonderful they are at beating it, and then it will all turn to crap after the election.

Something similar is happening in the US. There's been demonstrations against their lockdown. Many of the demonstrators are Trump supporters. After the demonstrations, Trump is now talking of relaxing the lock downs (however he's leaving it up to individual state Governers to make the final decision - so he can pass the buck when it goes sh*t shaped. Meanwhile praising and supporting the demonstators on twitter.) He also has an election in November of course

False promise i bet. In Wales those listed should be getting tested anyway. I know a frontline emergency worker that went down with symptoms. A form went in for testing 2 weeks ago and she still hasn't heard anything.
Apparently in my county there have only been 277 tests completed

I dont disagree. We keep getting testing targets from government ministers then when they miss them they come up with a new target. Like chippy says it's best to keep my fingers crossed I dont get it in the first place

Not sure if this has been posted already: support the Nhs....not like this though. Thursday 8pm London

My wife has now been told that they are washing the single-use PPE they have to use as there is no new stock. If there isn't a national enquiry into this farce I will be stunned. How this can be allowed to happen can only be due to astonishing incompetence or deliberate neglect of their duty.
