Barnsley Brewer's Elderflower Gold

Opened with a very satisfying hiss, lovely colour, excellent head. Smell was very hoppy, tastes similar to a Blonde Beer but a lot better. Huge thumbs up to the man.

Again, a very good from Mrs C. I'll get one all to myself one day :hmm: .

Thanks John

that looks like a lovely pint  proper job in the post tommorrow - hope you enjoy it :D

Hi Toni,
Glad you enjoyed it, was there a chill haze or is it the camera flash?

Nah, That's just the fact that he poured it the minute the postman delivered it

It wasn't easy not to. ;)

It was condensation on the glass.
Excellent brew John, thanks again.

Remember, this is only from my experience. I’ve never tasted Old Peculiar

Moley’s Slightly Peculiar

As it says on the bottle, we already knew that :D

A very faint hiss on opening, smelled very much like a strong brown ale.
Held up to the light it had a reddish hue.
The taste was to me, unique, it had plenty of body, slightly dry & a strength (6.4%) that made me decide to take my time with it.
I have not tasted an ale like this before but, if this is a representation of what I’ve been missing I’ll be visiting my nearest free house very soon.
My words do not do this excellent ale justice.

Moley sent two bottles, the other was a carrot whisky that I’ll be saving until Christmas.

Cheers Moley

There was a much better hiss the first time I opened it.

Like I said in my PM, I chilled it, decanted very slowly and re-bottled in plastic for safety in the post, to keep the weight down and to get rid of the sediment.

Glad you liked it, I tend to go for ‘chewy’ beers. If they require a knife and fork, so much the better. I don't think it's just that my tastes have changed since I started brewing AG, but Old Peculier doesn't seem to be a patch on what I recall from when I were a lad.

The Carrot is just a sampler from the DJ, although it's already 9 months old. It was added to bring the package to just a few grams under the kilo. It probably won't benefit from longer storage in a little plastic bottle, get it opened.

"Chewy", now why didn't I think of that  . A far better description. At the very least I'll save the CW 'till weekend :thumb:
Thanks again Ade

Sean_Mc's Stunted Stout

Good hiss on opening, very dark, excellent head. The smell mirrored the taste of chocolate & liquorice, & slightly smokey.
It tasted just like the best stout should, with a really pleasant aftertaste. To compare I had a can of draught G**nn*ss that I keep for emergences straight after. It tasted thin & watery in comparison.
To my mind, a really great stout.

Cheers Sean.

Thanks Toni for the favourable report, I'm chuffed to bits you like it

Cheers Sean

Sue's, (Mrs Snail's) championship confection

Couldn't believe it when I opened the package, had to fight off Mrs C to stop her eating the cake straight away. I had to take photos first. She stood there tapping her foot while I did my best :hmm: (No, I digress)
Very moist sponge, the icing was really clever, (it wasn't like that when I was at catering college, we had to use piping bags) I take my hat off to you dear lady. Mrs C says you should be selling them at M&S.

Thanks Sue

Rick The Brew's Proper Job

Strong hiss when opened, smell was really hoppy, brilliant taste, malt, hops, & when you've swallowed it leaves your mouth dry, wanting more. IPA is becoming one of my favourites.
I have to say Rick, you really have done a proper Job of this brew. Thanks.

   Stop putting the beer in the fridge

You'll kill all the taste . . . at least let it warm up first

I dunno you'll be drinking Lager next :nono: :nono:

Toni Mrs S says your are welcome. I keep telling her she should do them as more than a hobby for family and friends. Hope the wine goes down as well :thumb:.

Thanks Mick, I'm on my second piece now & I've found the creamy/jammy part, I'll hopefully be trying the wine over the weekend.

So much alchohol, so little time :D

Great label Snail :thumb:

That looks like a seriously expensive bottle of wine.

Is 2010 looking like a good year for the Chateau l'Escargot?
