Yes as all beers have evolved over years many are changed because of hop supply sometimes. it can be caused by a bad harvest etc.
Modern day Tetley tastes different to the stuff I started drinking in the 70's but the problem is it is really hard to be able to describe as the change happens gradually over years.
I would say that the 1970's version was sightly more bitter but again it is hard to be exact
