After a trip down the tesco's drinks isle a couple of days ago I came across a beverage described as "Exotic Juice". On closer inspection it was a mixture of apple, orange, pineapple, banana, passion fruit and mango juices.

I decided to try a gallon of it and so added an amount of Youngs Cider yeast and some nutrient to a DJ of the juice to see what happens. I am aiming for something more in the vein of a Turbo Cider than a wine, hence the no added sugar.

On day three this thing in fermenting like an absolute nutcase and has spit more pulp out of the airlock than one would believe possible  I'm attributing the large amount of pulpy sediment to the banana.

Anyway, the lava lamp effect is kicking in now and the airlock has been replaced for a blow off tube so will keep you posted on the results.

That sounds interesting, it should be great, especially with a little aging. I tried something similar a few weeks ago, a Lidl tropical juice caught my eye too. I had 4l of apple juice already fermenting so I added the tropical juice to it, so it will be more cidery than your recipe. It's taking longer to clear than plain TC, I might try adding some pectolase, but hopefully it will clear up soon. If yours comes out well I might try it, with some honey.

I use Aldi Exotic juice quite frequently. Mixed with 1lt WGJ it makes a good wine. I tend to make 25 lt so use 3 Exotic and 2 Apple with 5 WGJ. Makes a nice wine.

Great minds and all that....!
Was in Sainsbury's the other week, saw a 2ltr Fruit Cocktail Juice thought "why not?"
(Orange,Pineapple,Apricot,Passion fruit,Apple,Lemon,Lime,Guava,Banana,and Mango)

So...2Ltr of said juice, brought to the boil, simmered for 15 minutes to remove any preservatives.
Added 1ltr grape juice.
2ld sugar.
1tsp nutrient.
3/4tsp tannin.
1tsp Pectolase.
1tsp Amylase(just in case!)
Water to 5.2ltr.
1tsp std wine yeast.
SG:- 1.08 - 1.1 (my eyesites **** before anyone starts  )
Started on 16-1-13 in a 25ltr bucket, transfered to a demi john 1 week later.

Looking good so far.

Wil keep ya informed.

Cheers.

Roy.

Well the vast majority of the sediment and pulp had dropped to the bottom of the DJ today so i decided to rack the liquid off of this in order to allow topping up fairly early in the process.

I had lost around half a liter after this racking, with a hefty layer of almost a couple of inches at the bottom of the primary dj. Topped up with Tesco apple juice now, hopefully will mellow the flavor out a little in the long run.
