It's a great plan to smooth things over with the good ladies ;) I've got 4 different WOW's on the go in the hope that Mrs Pjam likes at least one of them

edit: I too used a mug of strong tea.

I have 6 DJ's of various supermarket juice wines on the go and a 32 litre bucket of Rose, Mrs Tea has never tasted one of my wines and not liked it, i like to have a good supply of smoothing over juice as i need it on a regular basis.

Ah Chippy, I think that says more about your skills as a brewer :hat:

Or Mrs Tea being a **** head ;)

I refer you to my post above.

She asked if i could make it a little weaker as she goes to sleep after a couple of glasses, i dropped the total sugar to 1000g and she still goes to sleep after a couple of glasses, its a bugger having to drink the rest of it on my own. :drink:

Hope she's not looking over yer shoulder

She is in the front room ordering the monthly shop which of course includes plenty of cartons of juice, i am going to try the new ones below as well as the usual ones i get.

These are 100% juice so only adding one litre and a WGJ to each DJ. :thumb:

Hey, Mrs Monkey is rather partial to a glass or five, but she's never been too keen on my wine! I think that says more about my skills as a winemaker, though, tbh. Or, at least, the fact that I used to be very very impatient in brewing and often bottle before it had properly cleared not to mention open bottles before they had properly matured.

After a two year break from brewing, I'm back with a determination to be much more patient and produce something that SWMBO will happily drink!

Give the cranberry and wgj wine in this thread a try its Mrs Teas favourite, I am also partial to glass or three.

im going to make another wow after this one then give up if the mrs doesnt like it, as i dont drink wine there is not much point brewing it. I will stick to my cider and ale

so iv racked it off this morning and topped it up with about of a litre of water. had a little taste it has a hint of burnt orange hoping that will mellow out.

With it being sat for 2 weeks it had cleared nicely. So I bottled it got 5 75cl and 4 160ml (britvic) the burnt orange has gone and smell of pineapple is just there. Off to the shed it goes. Will get the Mrs to try it in a month or so

I was just about to ask about this. I took a reading (0960) and 17.2% might be a tad too much for Mrs Pjam. Is the water a good fix for me?

what was the OG?

How much sugar did you use? (including the sugar in the juice)

17.2% seems a little high.

I think you must have made a mistake with your readings there! It's impossible for a wine to ferment down to 0960.

0996 is much more likely, which will knock 4.9% off your initial calculations... taking you to 12.3%.

Ah yes, you could well be right. I'll double check :wha:

OG was 1090

Yes. Your right of course 0.996 ........... giving me 12.5% phew! that's better :)

Thanks guys ;)
