my blackcurrant tc brewday.
7 ltr aldi aj
1 400ml bottle blackcurrant lowitz
2 tbag tannin in 500ml boiling water with 16 sweetener tabs(hermesetas)
small tsp of each, pectolase, nutrient, citric.
topped up to 9ltr mark with bottled water.
CML cider yeast sprinkled on top and stirred after a minute or two.

Took a sg on this one of 1054 so if it reaches 1000 which it usually does it will be 7% which is more than enough for me. I dont usually bother taking gravity readings on tc but my last batch of this i was pi**ed after 4 bottles but that batch i only topped up to 8.5 ltr, it didnt last long though.
After bottling this batch i will put another one on top of the cml yeast, probably a raspberry +lemon jobbie.

Looks good and using a syrup means that the Blackcurrant taste should still be there after it's fermented out.

I used roughly the same proportions with Mango Juice and goodness only knows where the Mango went. I could neither see it in the colour (it was a violent orange) nor taste it in the finished product.

The good news is that it still disappeared with the usual rapidity! :thumb:
 
I've done this before dutto and probably my best tc yet, the blackcurrant comes through nicely.
