how does the taste compare to drinking from a glass?
 
That looks amazing! Where did your sister get it from? I've been hinting to my sister for ages for one but she doesn't know where to get one.

i got one of these about 12 years ago from a load of my locals when i ran a pub never used it untill last week for drinking my own beer that i made and i think it tastes better then from a glass :cheers:

No different - there's not taste or smell from the pewter - it's just the satisfaction of having an item of great beauty :mrgreen:

I occasionally use my Great Grandfathers mug, which is a bit more weathered and dented than yours. It originally came from the Lord Napier pub in Greenwich, and has his monogram on the front.

It is. :grin: I also have one I was given as a present for being best man at my friends wedding. The old one is really thick pewter compared to that one, no doubt for everyday use in the pub.
