Am just drinking the first of a brew started on the 9 July and bottled 21 July. A Coopers English kit plus a Wilko 1.5kg lager for extra malt, Coopers kit yeast and dry hopped with some Bouclier hops from the Malt Miller bargain hop bin.

It was brewed at a rather warm time if I recall, but has dropped beautifully clear (as clear as if had been filtered clear) and has a wonderful flowery aftertaste if not chilled. Bit of a bouquet, but not as noticable as the aftertaste.

I did a similar brew some months ago, using a hop tea method with Cascade hops and that was a more powerful hop taste, but this is really quite delicate. Both a bit transient, I suspect.

Expected it to be a bit dodgy with the high fermenting temperatures, but it's great. I brewed this to 28L and added almost a kilo of sugar. If you pick up the cans in the Wilko sale it comes to about £19 - I got 53 500ml bottles and am very chuffed :grin:

I have done something similar to yourself at approximately the same time. I started mine on 19th July.
Iv'e done a Coopers English Bitter kit, added a can of Coopers Amber Malt Extract and 500g of Light Spraymalt
Made a yeast starter with the kit yeast AND a packet of Gervin English Ale yeast.
I got distracted and pitched the yeast in at 34C.. I thought oh shine a light it's ruined, but............
O.G was 1055
F.G came out at 1007
6.93%ABV was a little stronger than I imagined it would be, I was expecting something more like 6.5%
Had a whiff of it as I lifted the lid to check that fermentation had finished and the fumes burnt my eye :D smells really nice with plenty of alcohol. Sampled it out of the hydrometer tastes good and leaves a warming glow :party:
It is still in the fermenter. Plan on racking off into a secondary at weekend, add some finings then bottle next week.

I had planned all year on doing this brew in summer and keeping it back until November for Bonfire Night.

As soon as this is bottled going to get a Coffee Porter going for Christmas.

What temperature did you ferment at?

Went up to 24C-25C during the ferment - only went over 25C once during the warm spell and I think it was the one after this that copped for that.
