Dragging ourselves out of the pit with a horrendous Saturday night hangover and rushing down the road the catch last orders and a packet of ****.

Edit.
I think last orders was at 3 pm in those heady days, perhaps a bit earlier- too many brain cells destroyed since then and now.

Sunday drives to the local seaside town “budgin” (Buncrana) and sitting in the pub later in the day with my parents while they drank black beer. Then having chips on the way home.
Drink driving back then wasn’t a crime lol

Black and white telly with a tuning knob.

My grandson asked what 💾 symbol was.
"floppy disk"
"What's that".. "and why does it mean 'save game' then"

Mother's home made cakes - she'd bake every Saturday and cake was on the table with Sunday breakfast, for afternoon coffee and a last slice in the evening. Grew up in Germany.

What I miss these days here in the UK is peace and quiet on a Sunday (just 1 day in the week please!). 24 hr opening almost everywhere. I know, the all day drinking is great. I hear the stories of boredom etc. I was here well before the liberalisation.
