I'm thinking of priming my latest batch of bottled home brew (Coopers Euro Lager) with sugar cubes, as I think it would be easier than messing around with granulated. These appear to be about 3-4g, would that be OK for 500 ml bottles?

Gonna make more mess smashing then in thro the bottle neck than using a teaspoon of sugar

I was thinking the other day that if you can't batch prime (best method), a more accurate method than just bunging in half a teaspoon would be to make up a solution to the correct concentration (perhaps tricky) and then dispense into the bottles using a bar optic before filling. Probably cheaper just to buy a bucket just for bottling and batch prime, but it's an idea, no?

I've seen people do something along these lines.
Say 40 bottles at 5ml per dose = 200ml.
So add XX grams of priming sugar, then make it up to 200ml and dose at 5ml per bottle with a syringe.

I've used sugar cubes for a while now, they fit though the top of PET bottles just fine. Less messy than granulated and a lot cheaper than carbonation drops. 1 per 500ml is about right for my tastes.

I dissolve up my priming sugar and finings (gelatin) in boiled water or beer, and add to the wort before bottling (if I'm bottling) or half way through filling the keg from the fermenter.

Thats what I do---works really well-I use the syringe from the kids medicine bottles.
