stuck or not?what now?

Getting evermore brave the other night I formulated this:-betterbrew czech pils kit,500 g llight spray malt,1kilo pale malt and 25g crystal(mashed before adding to kit)some hop additions and kit yeast.Trouble is it went off like a v8 for two days,huge krausen ring the lot,then stopped.Took a hydrometer reading and its at about 1.028 ish far to high to have stopped.have given it a stir to see if I can encourage it to wake up again?Any advice greatfully recieved.

how long has it been on brew?

Og was 1.052 brewed it 4 nights ago(fri night)temp beetween 18-20.Do you think there were too mant fermentables and the yeast is spent?

id give it another week to 10 days to finish and clean up

The one that came with the kit,yeast is a minefield to me,plus my local shop has about 3 sorts including wine and cider ones.Think they only have a basic ale one.

I think the kit yeasts are pretty rubbish, apart from the Coopers ones. Today confirmed my suspicions when a new kit I'm doing got stuck at 1020, just like some previous kits. In between I've been doing plenty of Extract brews with branded packets of yeast and none of them got stuck. Never had a Coopers kit stick either, tends to be the ones made by Muntons and either sold as theirs, or re-branded.

Checked ir twice in twodays now and hasnt moved bellow ,1.020.Had to do something so have repitched some youngs ale yeast.Keepin em crossed!
