Well, you live and learn. I always thought that was one of the few things brexiteers had got right.

Bringing the thread back to plastic before it goes off on too much of a tangent, I really don't like the amount of plastic used by home brew shops. Everything is wrapped in plastic, even yeast packets are put in plastic which seems unnecessary. I did buy grain uncrushed in 10kg sacks as those came in burlap and those bags can be reused. I'm moving home and won't have the space for several sacks of malt and will have to buy on a per recipe basis, which involves a lot of plastic.

Am i the only one who watched that and was saying FFS get a decent pair of pliers and get a decent grip instead of torturing the poor thing.
Yes, but mostly I was thinking "How in the hell did it get it up there?"

How much ear-wax does mankind produce? I've never had occasion to use one.

A lot -

Actually it's not `customer demand' - it's just perfectly normal human browsing behaviour in a self service situation. If there's a tray of perfectly formed apples with a couple of misshapen ones guess which ones will be left in the bottom of the tray when it's empty? I know I always pick the best looking ones, and if I'm faced with a tray of manky looking ones I'll just go and buy something else instead.
That is kind of exactly what the definition of 'customer demand' is.

Hi!
As if banning straws and earbuds will solve the problem. Small minds, small ideas.
Anyway, one of the few pleasures left to me, now that old age is tapping on my shoulder, is a good old rake around with an ear poker :laugh8:
Banning straws and earbuds will not solve, but at-least we can have a start towards the plastic free environment.

Hi @Benjamin Tolmer
A better start would be to sell meat in greaseproof paper and force supermarkets to employ more serving staff.
Earbuds and straws used to be made out of paper.
I look forward to seeing your homebrew posts.

off-course that would be a better start, just quoted that banning straws can be a start. There are straws made of plastic too, used in big restaurants as the the finish of plastic straws is better that those made from paper. And instead of even using paper straws, it would be better to use organic straws as main motive is to save environment and making of paper also lead to loss of trees.
Appreciate welcome!! Cheers
