I had a quick look on Facebook marketplace and there's someone near me selling used 19L kegs for £35 a piece.

I don't understand why you would spend 4x that to get an extra 4 litres. OK say they need a bit of reconditioning - some new seals etc but you could get 3 19L kegs and the seals for less than the price of the 23L keg. Doesn't make sense to me but it's your money, man!

You could even get a couple of kegland Tee piece carbonation caps and a couple of old 2L coke bottles for your extra 4 litres (or just get used to brewing to 20 litres).

I do have a new 19L that was a Christmas gift a few years ago but now I have to look closely to tell which is which because they are in constant use so get dinged up and I don't really clean the outside often. There's no difference between the new and the old, and once they are in the keezer you don't even see them anyway.

I have 3 Boots aluminium barrels that I use. I converted them to S30 valves and added a pressure gauge because the gas system they come with simply didn’t work. They all work well after conversion. You can still pick them up occasionally on Facebook and eBay.

I’ve picked up 5 19l cornies since October, never paid more than £45 and all have been in great condition.

Last 2 cost me £35 each from a guy near Manchester, he had another 12 or so left for sale
Pretty sure that's the guy I saw on Facebook marketplace 👀

Well, they are out of stock anyway with little chance of them being available any time soon.
Apparently, the manufacturer has to completely re tool the production line to make those ones, and that doesn’t happen very often.

So I brew at 35 Pints, can someone tell me how much the 19L kegs will take allowing for headroom or whatever, please.
