I had some remarkably tastey strawberry beer/lager at a pub the other week!

I have a youngs lager kit at the ready - I'm contemplating making this strawberry lager!

What do you reckon to adding some strawberry concentrate from a youngs strawberry kit during the fermentation? :hmm:

I had a yummy german strawberry beer ooooo a long time again in bremen. Tried to brew one myself a few years later but it all went off. An enthusiastic mate was helping me bottle/prime but kept overfilling the bottles and swigging the excess by the neck .... i blame him ofc but even the ones i bottled went off too ..... must have been his athletic bugs eh

Good luck with this one crE

My next brew will be a belgium cherry beer - tried it from the shop and found a kit. Its very nice, i hope the kit is just as good.

I was thinking about this the other day, and wondered the same - could you just add a tin of strawberries, cherries or whatever fruit flavour you want to the fermenting bucket?
Also, i was wondering about making a citrus type beer/lager. Could you just add lemon peel to the fermenting bucket?

This takes ALOT of fruit to get the flavour and colour so it's definitely best to get some on special offer or whatever. I think the Belgians add it to secondary fermentation as the flavour can tend to wash out if boiled/primary fermented.
