My records show OG 1.047ish and FG 1.011ish (at 19 litres).
And I agree with Pirate_Pete, they can be drunk after about a month or even earlier.

Thanks terrym I'm gonna be having a go at this probably weekend. I notice your recipe says 500g of golden syrup but I can only find 454g tins. Would this make much difference and if so could I add some brewing sugar to make up the difference?

Go to Morrison's,a clear bottle of 750 gram is £1.25 and works out as around 600 gram of sugar as its only 80%

I buy supermarket own brand GS which now come in squeegy bottles . Tesco's is 700g and costs £1.25. Not only is it cheaper than T&L but it's the same stuff, and the squeegy bottles are easy to weigh out.
If you wanted to go the 454g tin route you could top up to 500g using dextrose or even table sugar, or just not bother with a top up and stand the loss of a point on your OG.

Thanks
I already had the syrup so I'll just get another squeegy bottle and top up, I doubt it'll get wasted!

One more question. When priming what quantities should I be using?

Thanks

terry has given great advice for the stout. you could swap the dark dme for very dark, but whatever be aware that treacle as others have said is quite potent.

for priming try this...

Thanks dad of Jon.
Yeah I'm gonna stick with what terrym has suggested as it's the first time I'll have made it. It can always be tweeked for personal taste next time. Cheers:cheers:
