The cycle into work this morning was terrifying. I kept getting blown sideways. I got blown into the kerb three or four times. I was scared I would get blown the other way an into the path of an overtaking car. So I was cycling at about 5 miles an hour (when the wind was blowing straight at me I couldn't cycle much faster anyway).
I'm currently stuck in the office waiting for the rain to ease off so I can cycle home (If it doesn't I'll catch the train). Fortunately the wind has eased of considerably since this morning.
Looking at the pictures on the guardian, the north has had it much worse than we have down south, with lots of flooding. We've just had a lot of trees blown over
