Hi guys, long time reader here - first time poster.

My brother and I have been AG brewing for about two years now.
We try lots of different recipes and inevitably seem to end up wasting a large number of half empty bags of malt and hops.

I was just wondering what is the best way to store them and how long each will potentially last?

All advice appreciated.

Store grain in air tight bags and once you have opened hops seal bags and freeze them :thumb:

For stuff you probably won't use again go for a custom grain kit from geterbrewed. .. even if it's just the additions rather than base malt

Hops.. resealable bags in freezer
Grain, cool and dry, should be ok for several months crushed, longer whole

Grain in vacuum bags in a sealed container. Open hops in a freezer but the will deteriorate over time. I can recommend geter brewed who sell grain and hops to your spec

I've had hops in airtight kilner jars in my fridge for around two months now as I only do small one gallon brews. They seem fine to me, still got a punch when I open the lid and there totaly dry. I don't have a freezer so this seems to work for me

Thank you all for your assistance - I'm going to give geter brewed a try right now. I've had a bit of a winter break, can't wait to get back brewing again.
