Just flicking through a new product catalog (Skat mags for caterers)and there is a Stay puffed marshmellow stout. I've never heard of this, it sounds bizarre, has anyone given this a go?

@Clint, fair shout mate athumb.. TBH I've never heard of a marshmellow ale. I'd give a tin a go, but I've not seen it down this way. The trade supplier that's got it here only goes in slabs of 24.

Omnipollo Hypnopompa Marshmallow Stout
On my way to this iconic brewery with a suitcase full of marshmallows I admittedly questioned my good judgement. However, sipping on a glass of this beer I am utterly happy that the purist in me stayed at home. Omnipollo Hypnopompa is an imperial stout brewed with almost 100 kgs of marshmallows and Tahitian vanilla beans (the size of cigars). Virtually no carbonation and boiled a bit extra for good measure this is a beer strictly for the stout inclined. Batch #1 intentionally has no carbonation. Batch #2 has low carbonationd and cold extracted Hafursa coffee. Drink now or age for many years. Henok

I'd advise against it. It isn't anything special. The only marshmallow stout that I had tried, worth note, is the Omnipollo one. But even then, it's got nothing on most of the other Omnipollo imps. I think the problem is, just how much flavour can you extract from a marshmallow? I mean it sounds interesting and for the imp lovers that have a sweet tooth (me), it's almost impossible to pass by. But I won't be spending my money on another one.

They've done an imperial version too, which is distinctly marshmallowy on a solid RIS backbone. Good stuff.

Certain sweet tastes lend themselves very well to imps. Maple syrup, vanilla, chocolate, peanut butter etc. I just don't get the marshmallow thing. It doesn't have enough oomph to match the strength of a big stout. Omnipollo are the daddies when it comes to weird and wonderful imps and I think they even struggled with this one.
