Hi all i have been brewing on a small scale for 5 years now i didn't have much success at first with beer and lager so stopped them after a year and stuck with brewing wine, all brewing was done with kits. But now i am ready to give the old lager another go. I am in the prossess of buying a corny keg and my home bar is fully functional with beer taps, flash cooler, fob detector and line flow regulator. I would apprecciate any advice anyone could give me regarding on gassing. I was hoping to have a pub style system where the gas bottle was conected all the time with a regulator. The thing is i know nothing about regulators, pressure, fittings or where to acquire such things, i live in the leeds/wakefield area. Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

Welcome to the forums, Grog.

I'm sure there will be someone along to answer your query shortly, unfortunately I'm just starting out with this kind of setup myself so I can't offer any advice.

I am just about to brew some "cooking lager"

Made Pilsner and a Munich type lager but the kids want lager like you get in the supermarket

Anyway

One of David Lines recipes I have done before - for 25 litres:

3250g lager malt
125g Crystal malt
750 g flaked Rice (from your local Waitrose or Sainsburys)
60g Saaz in the boil for 60 mins, plus 30g for last 15 mins.

Get a decent lager yeast if you can
