Started my Mash Tun today!

Well, the missus is working next Saturday, so I think it's going to be then. I'm going to do an oatmeal stout for my first one, 'cos I bally love the stuff! Not sure which recipe to use yet - might go for the Sam Smith's one I've seen on here, or Aleman's effin' oatmeal stout. Haven't decided yet.

:thumb: Alemans recipe seems to come well reccommended - I haven`t tried the Sam Smiths one but an oatmeal stout is on my brewlist

Hehe, yeah it was tough choosing what to brew first, that's for sure!

Anyway, mash tun's all finished now. Haven't got a great syphon effect going on as don't think I did a great job of filing out the tank connector. Some of the water is draining through the slight gaps (in between the connector and pipe) on the strainer side of the connector. My hope is that once the thing us full up with grain, the gap will get plugged slightly and it will work better. :hmm:

The "Eheim" tubing came from an aquatic shop :thumb:
