I'm looking to start all grain brewing and I've been looking at the thermo pots at Hop & Grape. I will be doing 5 gallon brews but I would like to do some strong ones. They do a 30 & 47ltr, will the 30ltr be big enough. I was thinking of buying the bigger one but then I thought that the empty space may cause the temperature to drop during the mashing period. These pots come with or without a tap fitted. The fitted tap looks a bit high in the picture but that could be the camera angle. The easy option if the tap is okay, is to buy one with a tap already fitted. Or I could drill a hole through the bottom and fit one myself. Look forward to hearing from anyone with some advice. Cheers.

I use a 50L for 10 gallon brews so a 30 should be fine for 5G, however they're good at retaining heat so if you see yourself upping the brewlength in the future go for the 50L.

I don't know if you're aware of it but these appear to be ready converted examples of the pots a lot of us bought on the French or German ebay. So if you're handy with the tools you could buy a virgin one and convert it yourself.

Thanks for your time, I've just had a look on the German site and that seems like the way forward. Just got to get my German dictionary dusted off. Cheers.
