Hey,
This is only my second batch, and after a lame Geordie Lager attempt, i stepped it up too a St Peters IPA extract kit.
My question is about the OG and FG. I took an OG reading before pitching the yeast, and it was at 1046.
The instructions says that the FG should be around 1014, and approximate ABV is 5-5.5%
Shouldn't the OG then be around 1052-1056?
It may be that i didn't get a good sample, but i feel like i shook and stirred it well, before taking one.
Is there anyway too loose gravity from a kit, when i followed the instructions completely?
