Just been given this kit for free, says best before Jan 2015, but dates on the packets are 2016, will it be any good or is it for the bin, thanks ahead
Wait until the bubbler has nearly given up or leave it at least a week whichever is the longer, then take a peek under the lid, and if it looks like its clearing, start to take SG readings. Same reading on two or more consecutive days means its safe to bottle/keg. If you leave it the full two weeks, assuming its finished before then, it gives the brew more chance to clear and the yeast will continue to work on the beer to improve it's quality.how long would you recommend leaving this in the fv, this is my first ale,
At least two weeks, maybe a little longer...
See you have brewed it fairly short , should have a bit of a kick !
Brewed as per instructions, said 19 litres which equates to 33 imperial pints, minus loss racking should give you the 32 quoted......I think
Had a bit of rise and fall but no co2 action as yet, wonder if that yeast was past it?
There is definitely a chance of that, if the kit has passed best before and the yeast has been stored at room temperature.
Your best option might be to pick up some of the Wilko ale yeast, if you have a store near you.
Don't leave it too long or you risk infection taking hold.
Just one packet / sachet.
you should see the Jacuzzi effects in the first 4 he's,I've used this yeast a couple of times from Wilko and it certainly works, best of luck with itThanks, it's in, fingers crossed
What temperature are you at?Well Ive had a little foaming at the top and not one bubble from the airlock, I wonder if this kit really was passed it
