hi guys, just a quick question, where do you guys buy your ingriedients, equipment, chemicals from within the uk. tescos have a wide range at decent prices and lakeland too but its all lakeland brand items and i was wondering if they were any good. cheers as always

I find Wilko are the best value for general stuff like beer kits, dry malt, airlocks, hydrometers, bottles etc. Most places like Lakeland & The Range sell the exact same stuff just under their own brand and little bit more expensive.

For other ingredients I'm a big fan of Oak Homebrew (Google it) as they have good prices on their grains and hops.

I also buy my chemicals from Wilko and my sterilising tablets from Savers which are about 89p for 40 or something.

http://www.thebrewmart.com/ is also good priced.

For beer kits and enhancers I've been stocking up in the Tesco sales using the free 'click and collect' service.
For all the stuff that they don't sell I've been buying here: http://www.the-home-brew-shop.co.uk/?gclid=COvPt-is8sECFSXKtAodZyYAtw
Free delivery over £65. I spent a long time comparing prices; all suppliers seem a bit cheaper for some things and slightly dearer for others but this place seems to be as good as any. Decent selection and efficient service with the two orders I've placed so far.

I get stuff from all over - I've gotten stuff from Wilko, Balliihoo (fast delivery in my experience), the-home-brew-shop, EBay and (most importantly) local homebrew shops.

Have you searched for a local one? Some of them are crazy expensive round here, but there's a couple that are there or there abouts on prices with the big online places, and it's nice to support local businesses (and avoid paying postage!)

I buy from various places such as:

worcesterhopshop.co.uk Cheap hops (£2.25 for 100g) and crushed grains (£1.39/kg).

themaltmiller.co.uk - great for grains, extracts, hops and White Labs yeast

thehomebrewcompany.co.uk - sells kits, White Labs yeast, hops, grains, extract, equipment all at good prices

geterbrewed.com - not ordered from here yet but looks great, really good prices and selection

brewuk.co.uk - sells everything, and has Wyeast

yeah there is a shop but its 45 miles away, was through last week and its a great place. i reckon when i get more confident and start adding hops or even all grain brewing ill through more often
