I have been looking at using Sonoff to control the lighting and other things in the house using the house Wifi. Whilst looking at the different products they make, i see they make a temperature controlled switch and the temperature probe is water proof - which could go straight in the brew.. It is only a single switch so could only switch the fridge, but you can set alarms to trigger another switch say to bring on a heater. It can all be controlled by iphone or android, and you could monitor temp and control the fermenter from anywhere in the world. Has anyone played with this? Bits are fairly cheap so i am going to see what can be done.

Question I have is why? Are you ever in the situation where you need to change the temperature of the brew fridge remotely?

But I also thank you for pointing out that this product exists as I have an electric heater in my bar shed that I want to add some form of thermostatic control to, and wireless version would be ideal as I can set it to 5C as standard, and increase a couple of hours before I want to use the bar without walking down there! :hat:

I am often away from home and would like to ramp up fermentation of lagers over time.

That makes sense. As an alternative, the inkbird itc-310t allows you to program steps in the fermentation cycle so you can ramp up over time that way. That has both the heating and cooling plugs. But a project using wifi and having the ability to check on temperature wherever you are would be an interesting one. Or go further and link it in with an Echo. "Alexa, increase the temperature of my brew fridge by 2 degrees."
