Soaps. [poll]

Having posted in the recent TV thread in the snug i wondered how many of us still watch soaps i used to back in the day when Emmerdale was called Emmerdale Farm but that was many moons ago so lets see if we have any regular soap watchers in the forum,.

I will make it a multi choice poll for those that watch more than one regularly, you do not have to post which ones you watch.

Yes he should have included Pobol Y Cwm. I listen to Radio 4 in the car but if the Archers comes on I sit it silence.

Many years ago, when I was teaching in Dagenham, we tried a period without a TV.
When I let slip to my class that I didn't have a TV They wanted to know what the family did in the evening.
I told them that we listened to the radio, listened to music, played games, read books etc.
One youngster piped up, "It must be like The Waltons in your house".

I was going to say 'carbolic', but you know I'd be lying.... I don't like any of that genus of soaps either. But my missus used to watch the Big 3, recording them so's not to miss an episode etc. Then all of a sudden she stopped, and held the sort of disdain for them that I do. Dunno what happened there.

I once heard that the average Coronation Street viewer was a 13 year old girl!
The storylines must be orientated towards their core viewers. No wonder so few of us are interested.
