Unfortunately the water feed to my brew-shed is frozen so it looks like I’ll be having a break from brewing for a few days. 😢

As things stand it looks like I’ll be collecting RO water on Sunday & Monday for brew-days on Monday & Tuesday. 🤞

And we’re off!

It has snowed a few flakes here in sunny Brittany and we're waiting for the rest to come down this evening. So it's a garage tidy up day- no excuse not to check the malt hoard and get things ready for Snow Beer, tomorrow.
(Don't like the sound of Snow Beer. If you say it quick it can be frightening).

Sun Beer works better for me. Sun (more) Beer even better! 😉

Grain out, hops in.

Missed my pre boil gravity by a few points. It was a 1.2mm crush so I’ll go back to 1mm next time that I always used on the 3v system.

Hi Lee is the external pump just for transferring the wort to the fermentor. I would love a BM. I think I might of seen one's using the internal pump with a connection on the malt over flow pipe to transfer.
Looks a great setup 👍

Hi, it’s for the whirlpool and transferring into the FV. Used along side the BAC springer filter it also empties the vessel almost completely, no dead space.

It also recircs the wort while pumping chilled water around the cooling jacket.

Cheers!

If you have the time, I would be interested in your assessment of the BM and how it compares with the other brewing setups that you have used. How well does the cooling jacket work?

I managed to unfreeze the water feed to my brew-shed yesterday so started collecting RO water. Finishing off that collection at the moment. Still very cold but I should be able to start a brew within the hour. Feeling very chirpy! :D
