I made this a few weeks ago, I have lots of hops and am trying to discover what I like the flavour of, so planning a few single hop brews. Messed up a little it can about 4 litres shorter than expected (around 18 litres), but handy as I have now figured out how much water to use in mash and sparge to get 22 left.. Anyway,, it tastes tangy, real tangy. Im guessing to do with it coming short its strong, I didn't take any reading however one pint and I'm light headed.. Could the strength be giving me a false flavour, or have I over done it with the hop quantities. ??

Just ALE yeast from cross my loof.
Just wondered if the 'tangy' flavour was coming from the yeast. Some people describe safale S04, for example, giving a tartness to a beer. I think that it's probably a bit difficult to answer your question without a better understanding of what 'tangy' means

What ever it was, its gone after sitting for 3 days and its turned into quite a pleasant pint. I maybe got a bit carried away and put so many hops in it was a little bit over powering.
