Hi all, had a productive day today, brewed up my SMaSH Nelson this morning and bottled up a batch of Mainline Bitter from Foxbats recipe on the recipe forum.
Anyway it went pretty well
Recipe
3kg Marris Otter
Mash in at 70c, kept temp at around 66c for an 60mins. Mash Temp up to 75 for 10 mins. Mash out, sparged with 3.5l of 75c water in another pot with sieve, once drained through put back in pot and brought to boil.
10g Nelson @ 60mins
5g @30mins
5g@ 15 mins & 1/2 protofloc tab
5g@ 5 mins
15g@ flameout
Chilled in sink, took awhile but gave me time to bottle the other beer.
Still having trouble with the siphon so picked up a lot of trub annoyingly.
Pitched in Safale -4 english ale yeast at 20c gave the FV a good shake beforehand. That was about 1300pm and bubbling nicely! :-)
