what is the best way to put shrink wrap on, tried with hair drier took a long time.
must be a better way

If you're talking about the foil capsules which cover the top of the neck and the cork, I use a hot air gun (the kind of thing used for stripping paint) on its lowest heat setting, aimed at about 45 degrees downward from a distance of 8-10 inches away from the bottle, working from top to bottom of the capsule while rotating the bottle with my other hand.

After you've messed up your first couple it becomes easier with practice, and probably takes less than 5 seconds per capsule.

place on bottle then turn upside down dipping into hot water. i rarely need to use a hair dryer afterwards.

I was thinking about this - if you've got a lot to bottle, 20 say, then you'd have to keep boiling the kettle again and again, or I suppose you could use a pan of water on a rolling boil on the hob. Either way, it seems like a huge waste of electricity to keep the water boiling.

Thats a good point actually! I hadn't thought of that. I'm only doing 1 gallon batches at the moment and I dont put the foil caps on all the bottles so I do about 3 or 4 at the most.
I think I will try the hairdryer method tonight as I have 3 Mondego white wine and 3 Youngs peach all corked and ready to be done.
