Remember when we used to get proper snow in the seventies -

Similar thought occurred to me earlier, hope my beer isn’t freezing!

Beer shouldn't freeze 'til about -2C, I believe. Time to move bottles out of sheds!

We had a tiny dusting of snow overnight. Most of yesterday's had sublimed in the sunshine. My wife's school is sadly open. She's a teacher, not a schoolgirl!

Yeh I’ve heard a temperature around that. I think I should bring them in though, which won’t be popular! The good news is this cold crash shouldn’t take too long

I should have kept my big mouth shut. 15cm overnight and another remote working day for me. I honestly prefer to go in to the office on days like these because I don't have to cook and pay for the central heating!

I brought my bottles inside yesterday as a precaution. Bottles are in danger of breaking if they freeze solid.

I'm concerned for all the wine which is in my shed. -8 degrees out there this morning.

I used to work in an office which I could walk to and from every day. There was once a snow day but I went in, living walking distance and everything, however it was just me and the most annoying person in the office who came in and I think it was the longest work day I have ever say through! Next snow day I said to my line manager "Can I work from home as well? I can walk it but it will be me and [employee name] and I can't stand him." He laughed and said it's ok.

Ha, ha I was telling someone about how I drove to work through snow like that.
Would have been late 70's or early 80's.

We had some in laws staying for a few days.
Due to other circumstances the kids had a day off school today.
The beach was nice, about 25C or so. Water a bit cold but a nice swim.

No snow..... anywhere

That was this morning. It's snowed more since. Not as much as some others here though, but still plenty for schools to close and trains to stop

Na we used to live in a rolled up newspaper in a sceptic tank, we used to get up at 6 in the morning clean the newspaper then work down the mill 14 hours a day week in week out for sixpence a week :wink;

I checked mine earlier, as it happens everything outside is north of 8% ABV and it’s still absolutely fine.

Just moved my king keg from the garage to the conservatory just in case; forcast -8 round here tonight.
