people often like to clear it out for less sediment in the bottle, but that's fine - it should clear out in a few days, a week or two max.

Sorry to recycle old posts. I searched my problem and this seemed the most relevant post.

I read a post from someone whose beer was clear when bottling. My coopers real ale was as cloudy as the pics at the top of this page, and I just assumed it was normal and that it cleared in the bottles. It was left in the FV at 20 degrees for 2 weeks, should I have kept it a while longer at cooler temps to clear it?

If daithi55 is still a forum member, it'd be really helpful to find out how this one turned out!

Leave it as long as you can in a fermenting vessel at a cool temperature. The clearer it is when you bottle the less sediment in the bottle, and the better looking pint you will get.
( don't make much difference to the beer itself although yeast in suspension can give you the squirts ! )

Had you left it another week at cooler temps then it would have cleared further. I leave mine for 2 + 1 week and they are clear when bottling. Shouldn't be a problem though as it will clear in the bottle leaving a little more sediment than otherwise.

Thanks, so 2 weeks at 20 degrees or so and 1 week cooler?
