Just popped a minikeg of this stuff & had a pint-been maturing for 8 weeks. My perception of reality may be damaged beyond repair.English seems to be a second language to me now at this point.Want to convert folk to home brewing? Give them a half of this (then sneakily post the video on youtube)

A lot of the brewers in the past were women. I've never seen it in a supermarket, but it's well worth brewing, I did it for my first AG

The amazing thing is that people can write after having it!

The author Douglas Adams described a fictional drink in one of his novels as "its like having your brain smashed out by a slice of lemon wrapped round a large gold brick". Pretty much the same effect,minus the slice of lemon.

Just to compound matters my 23lt brew came up 2lt short.

It truly is a stunning beer. When I say stunning,think of an elephant being brought down with a tranquliser dart. But the taste-nicest pint I've brewed in a long time.

I've always had a soft spot for mild,but the only places that seem to sell it on tap down here in the south are social clubs.

I don't know of any supermarkets that stock it which is a crying shame.

I came a cropper of this at 17 went into a pub asked for a pint of mild thinking an easy drinker... We were starting at 5. OOOOOSH good night or at least the but I remember.

I use a Brewlab Thames Valley 2 yeast, which I'm not sure if this is similar to WLP002 and also Fullers; from my notes, after 6 months, the beer was fruity, caramel, raisins with some lingering liquorice
