Romanian Beer/drinks

I'm accompanying my daughter on a school trip doing charity work with deprived children in Romania next week.

I shall endeavour to sample some local beverages in the evening, does anyone know what Romanian beer is like? Stuff to look for or avoid etc?

To be honest its all pretty Largery:

URSUS, CIAC & Silva - all lagers produced by the likes of Saabmiller and hineken

Silva do a strong dark in the winter - nothing to write home about.

If you are out for a boozy experience, keep your eyes out for polenka its a sort of hardcore apricot brandy.

I suspected as much. I don't dislike good lager I'll just have to see what its like.
