Following the news of Graham Wheeler's death I decided that I would use one of his recipes for my next brew. I chose the TT Landlord, which has long been one of my favourite English ales. I had held off from brewing it before, as I have never been able to find the specified Styrian Golding hops in any of my LHBS, but today I decided to go for it, substituting Williamette for the Styrian Golding. All went relatively smoothly, other than my digital thermometer packing up during the mash, so not sure how close I kept to 66 C. The chilling went well and when I transferred to the FV, the stick-on thermometer strip read 18 C, with an O.G. of 1.047 (5 points over target). Pitched with CML real ale yeast and put in the brewfridge, which is currently set at 21 C in the hope of restarting a stuck AIPA, which stalled at 1.025.
Rest in peace Graham
