ingredients to make 2 gallons
1lt of Black currant Ribena cordial.
2lt of grape juice or (1kg of Raisins)
3lt of Don-simon fruit juice.
2kg of sugar.
1tsp of tannin.
2tsp of pektolase.
2tsp of youngs,super wine yeast compound.(1tsp per dj)

SG 1.096 :D
Note: start with half the sugar, add the rest in 7 to 10 days.
 
Hi WB.

Do you boil the Ribena first (Like the Vimto)?? don't think they would put any nasties in Ribena..

May have a go when we get back from holls.. :thumb:

It contains sorbate and metabisulphite to prevent fermentation.


I'm not convinced that boiling drives them off, but I've mentioned elsewhere that if you get a grape juice base fermenting and then trickle in the Ribena in stages later in the game, the working yeasties don't seem too bothered about the preservatives.

Got me wondering now about other b-currant cordials...will have to have a good look at the labels.

Just got a Cranberry/WGJ going... :pray:
 
Rock's organic b/c doesn't have any preservatives- I've used it in the Summerfruit wine with no trouble.
